Credit Unions are proudly based upon the principle of “People Helping People”
The money people save with Just Credit Union is what we lend to others in our community and the interest paid helps pay to run and improve the credit union to everyone’s benefit. We usually consider our community as our local area of Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, occasionally we are reminded that Just Credit Union is also a part of a global community of credit unions of which The Ukraine is part.
The Ukrainian credit union movement is key to how people in the country manage their money. The Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) in partnership with the World Council (WOCCU) have established “The Ukrainian Credit Union Displacement Fund” . The fund will direct support to mitigate both short and long-term impacts to Ukraine’s credit union system and those that look to it for support, including both employees and members. WFCU has launched this fund to send support to Ukraine’s credit unions where it is most needed in the short term as well as the challenges Ukraine’s credit union system faces for the long term.
Just Credit Union will be making a small donation to the fund but more importantly we are demonstrating our solidarity with all of Ukraine but particularly to our credit union friends with whom we have so much in common!
