What makes Just Credit Union different?
Members’ loans are covered by our unique FREE life insurance (terms and conditions may apply) at no additional cost and all savings are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
Being a member also means you are a shareholder in the company and may be due a dividend from the profis made at the end of each year which cannot be guaranteed. A Board of volunteer Directors make a recommendation to an Annual General Meeting for any dividend to be paid and all members are invited to vote on that recommendation.
Our Story
Just Credit Union was registered with the Registry of Friendly Societies in August 2001 to provide a safe, friendly and ethical local, professional financial service. The registration of the Credit Union in Shropshire was ground breaking, covering a large geographical area. Later the common bond was extended to also include Telford & Wrekin enabling everyone who lives or works in the county to join.
We have continued to go from strength to strength, achieving significant year-on-year growth in saving lending and membership. Most Just members spend the money they’ve borrowed locally which helps the local economy, local services and local businesses.
In 2025 we brought together FAIRshare, Money Box, and MWS credit unions to provide a single dynamic credit union serving the region as Just Credit Union. This expanded our common band to include Herefordshire, Wyre Valley, Malvern Hills, Worcester, Stafford, Newcastle Under Lyme, South Staffordshire, and Stoke-on-Trent. November 2025 we launched ‘The Potter Bank’ providing Just Credit Union’s services to Stoke-On-Trent.
However we are only too aware that it would not have been possible for Just to grow and thrive without the ongoing support of our members, partner organisations and agencies for which we are extremely grateful.
