Just Credit Union is partnering with the county’s library service to raise awareness of its services.
Shropshire’s 21 public libraries will hold information leaflets on the services provided by Just Credit Union and the new arrangement will also include the county’s mobile libraries which cover over 270 stops in some of Shropshire’s remotest areas.
Karon Farrow, Just Credit Union Chief Officer, said today: “Just Credit Union is here to serve anyone who lives or works in Shropshire. We therefore cover a large and diverse geographical area and it can be a challenge to get the message out to everyone who could benefit from our secure savings and ethical loans.
“Having the credit union’s information in all libraries, including the mobile ones, is a great way of letting people know we are here to help.”ÂÂ
Mirka Duxberry, Shropshire’s Library Development Manager, said: “Our vision is for libraries in Shropshire to be at the core of their communities and we work in partnership with others to enable everyone to live healthy and fulfilling lives.
“Just Credit Union exists to help its members improve their financial stability and build a better quality of life for individuals within the community, so our objectives are very closely aligned.”ÂÂ
There were over 750 000 visits last year to Shropshire libraries which now provide a diverse range of information and services with around 43 000 attending annual library events and activities. Residence of Shropshire will soon be able to pick up membership forms and information about the counties credit union from their nearest library.
